EIGTHY PERCENT (80%) OF THE WORKFORCE TODAY ARE EITHER MISPLACED OR MISFIT AT WORKPLACE!
Here is a question for you to ponder. Are you making a living or designing a lifestyle?Just before I answer that question, let me give you what the experts is saying about workforce.
But first here is a question for you to ponder. Are you making a living or designing a lifestyle?
Experts claims that eighty percent (80%) of the workforce today are either misplaced or misfit at workplace. This is potentially happening both in the corporate and non-profit organizations around the world.
Imagine going to work every day knowing that 80 percent of your coworkers are either misplaced or misfit from their works? This could mean different things. This could potentially entail many employees not genuinely happy in what they do at work. They work solely to earn a living because they must meet or their family need. There is absolutely nothing wrong with providing financially family needs. I think the problem lies on the fact that employees are not happy, struggling, misplaced, misfit in what they do at work place. Secondly, this could easily translate into frequent turn over, tardiness, sick leave, and waste of companies’ resources and who knows what else. Waste of time, energy, talents and skills. Lastly, it could mean employees not pursuing their dreams, their design, their passion, purpose or the things that they wanted to do in life; put aside their desired future because they’re stuck on a job that meets their family needs. The bigger challenge with this picture is huge inner struggle, loneliness, potential relationship conflict at work and at home, feeling unsatisfied and unfulfilled.
The bottom line is employees’ personal and professional development is at stake. Vision and dreams be put aside doing something they’re not happy until they retire at 65 years old.
Many employees and professionals see the importance of work not through the lens of God’s call but "the need to work” to make a living. Meaning we work for a paycheck but not to do our purpose. This is why so many employees and professionals out there working so hard unmotivated, struggling and dissatisfied with what they do.
They ask the million dollar question, “Why work?” “What do I gain from my work?” “Why do we get up every day to go to work?”
